What have we been up to in EAL?
Students in 5A EAL finished their leadership projects this week. They chose leaders at Dwight that they wanted to learn more about. In our unit, we learned how to write formal emails and how to conduct an interview. After taking notes and reflecting on their interview, students created newsletters to share all that they learned. Check out their newsletters here!
In celebration of black history month, grade 6 EAL students learned about Martin Luther King Jr. and his role as a civil rights leader. After reading and listening about Martin Luther King Jr., students created a photo video based on the themes of peace, freedom, and unity. Students recited parts of his famous speech, “I Have a Dream” that he gave in Washington D.C. in 1963. The aim of the project was to practice speaking fluency and presentation skills while celebrating an American icon.
