At this end of the year teacher workshop I led in 2017 at Dwight, we focused on how to use the pen tool. We played online games that teach one how to use this very important tool that allows you to draw vector graphics in such programs as Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, and Vectr. Vector graphics are necessary for vinyl cutting and laser cutting and are used by graphic designers for all kinds of publications.

Hey Dwight teachers, students and other community members. If anyone wants more workshops or help or support, let me know at sfarnsworth@dwight.edu

Also, if you would like to develop a project and use our laser cutter or vinyl cutter for a class project, I would love to work with you on it.

Excellent Online Vector Program with Built-in Lessons

I highly recommend using this online program. It is simple to use and easy to learn. You actually don’t have to be able to use the pen tool to create vector images. You can use different shape tools or you can even import an image into the program and it will convert it into a vector for you.
